Our aims

The Cochrane Health Equity Field and Campbell Equity Methods Group aims to support the work of the Campbell and Cochrane Collaborations, by improving their capacity to contribute to the world-wide Field, as outlined in the Cochrane Manual and the Guiding Principles for the Methods Groups of the Campbell Collaboration.  Our specific objectives are listed below:

1. The Cochrane Health Equity Field and Campbell Equity Methods Group will help link field members to other entities within the Collaborations, such as Collaborative Review Groups, Coordinating Groups, Methods Groups and other Fields.
2. We will contribute to maintaining the Cochrane Contact Database.
3. We will create and maintain a Field module to provide updated information on the activities of the group.
4. We will seek to ensure the sustainability and continuity of the Field's programme of work and promote equity-related reviews.
5. We will identify relevant trials and make them accessible through a specialized register.
6. We will work to increase the representation of equity experts in Campbell Collaborating Groups and Cochrane Collaborative Review Groups as well as increase the awareness of equity issues in these groups.
7. We will promote the accessibility of Campbell and Cochrane reviews, particularly reviews reporting information on equity-relevant considerations or presenting data stratified by socioeconomic status.
8. We will help to identify appropriate funding opportunities for Cochrane Collaborative Review Groups.
9. We will conduct methodological research (for example, in the context of new equity-focussed reviews) to further the ability of Campbell and Cochrane reviews to deal with issues surrounding the inclusion of equity components into reviews.
